Kelsy was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. Both of her parents played basketball and she quickly grew to love the game. She learned hard work and resourcefulness growing up in rural Alaska. She moved to New York when she was eighteen to attend Nyack College (now Alliance University) to pursue her basketball career and broaden her horizons. Kelsy brings basketball experience from the State championship level in high school and college. Kelsy scored 1,342 points in her college career at Nyack College as well as being honored as Most Inspirational Player her senior year, where she helped lead her team to the CACC championship title. She holds the school record in 3 point percentage and three pointers made in a season. She coached 17U AAU for two years where she led 11th grade girls to Nationals. Kelsy has been called a “player’s coach”. She relates to each player and treats them with respect. She focuses on developing the skills relevant for creating a winning culture, a competitive spirit, work ethic and good sportsmanship. This will be her 5th year coaching at Alliance University as an assistant coach. Kelsy has been married to her husband, Sheanan, also a Nyack Alumni, for ten years and together they have three kids. They reside in Stony Point, NY.
