Jersey City, NJ -- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced the 2023 Baseball All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Fifty-eight student-athletes were selected to this year's CACC Baseball All-Academic Team representing all 11 institutions that compete in the sport.
Alliance University places four student-athletes on the squad.
Junior
Richard Perez (Westbrookville, NY) who majors in Business Administration leads AU Baseball holding a 3.94 cumulative GPA, followed by Graduate student
Sam Abreu (Belleville, NJ) who posts a 3.79 GPA, Junior
Eric Bittiger (Secaucus, NJ) majoring in Biology with a 3.57 GPA, and Sophomore
Rocco Nappi (Pembroke Pines, FL) who holds a 3.51 GPA while studying towards a Nursing degree.
For both, Bittiger and Abreu, it is their second time being honored with all-academic status. They are among the thirteen (13) student-athletes to do so in their respective careers.
To qualify for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must:
a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants)
b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution
c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
