Alliance University

Jersey City, NJ -- On Tuesday, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Commissioner Dan Mara announced Alliance University as the winners of the 2022-23 CACC Men's Sportsmanship Award. 
 
Alliance University places on top with an average mark of 17.00 to beat out second-placed Holy Family University with an average mark of 15.75, and third-placed Felician University marking an average of 14.17. 
 
Alliance competes in five sports during the 2022-23 season including soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, and track & field. 
 
AU's baseball program captured the team sportsmanship award with 34 points and AU's men's soccer program was voted second with 27 points after reaching the CACC championship final for the first time since 2011.
 
The CACC Sportsmanship Awards are determined by the total number of votes the institution received over the course of the fall, winter, and spring seasons in all sports, divided by the total number of sports competed in by the institution during the 2022-23 season. 
 
Each sport's team sportsmanship award is voted on by the conference's head coaches in their respective sport. Head coaches speak with their student-athletes prior to voting to gain feedback on which opposing teams demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and character throughout the season.
