Jersey City, NJ -- Sophomore thrower Sage Sumpter garnered two second place finishes at the 2023 Danny Curran Invitational. Sumpter finished second in the shot put event with a distance of 12.96m which qualified her for the CACC Championship later this season. Sumpter is currently ranked first in both the CACC and the NCAA Division II East Region. She topped off her performance with a second place finish in the discus throw event with a distance of 39.41m which set a new school record and qualified her for the CACC Championship as well. Her 39.41m also rank first in the CACC and the East Region in the discus throw this season.
