Softball Falls to College of Staten Island in Doubleheader

Jersey City, NJ -- The Alliance University softball program was back in action on Friday afternoon to host the College of Staten Island Dolphins in a NCAA softball doubleheader. On a cold afternoon, Alliance was looking to bounce back after their opening defeat to NE10 program Franklin Pierce.

Game 1

CSI scored three runs in the top of the second inning and added another in the top of third before rounding up scoring with another four runs in the top of the 4th
AU totaled three hits in the loss coming from Janelle Adams, Kayla Bird, and Kate Crandall who hit her first collegiate double
Addyson Girard pitched five innings in the loss giving up 11 hits and 8 runs, with all of them being earned

Game 2

The Dolphins scored three runs in the top of the first and added another one in the top of the third
AU answered with a run in the bottom of the third when Jayna Celano scored on a wild pitch
CSI rounded up the scoring of the day with three runs in the top of the 6th and another lone run in the top of the 7th

Up Next: Alliance will start off their conference campaign with a doubleheader at Wilmington University on Tuesday, March 7th, before they head out for their annual Spring Break trip.
