Jersey City, NJ -- The Alliance University softball program earned its first conference win of the season with a split against Holy Family University on Wednesday afternoon. With the win AU improves to 1-5 in CACC play.
Game 1
- Holy Family started the game off with six runs in the bottom of the first inning.
- AU came back within one in the top of the third after scoring three runs in the top of the second and another pair in the top of the third.
- The Tigers extended their lead back to two in the top of the third before AU came back with a run in the top of the 5th.
- But the Tigers sealed the win with a combined six runs in the next two innings to earn the win in game one.
Game 2
- Kate Crandall's first collegiate career homerun set up AU for a 4-run innings in the top of the second.
- HFU tied the game with three runs in the bottom in the bottom of the second and a one-run homerun in the bottom of the third.
- AU jumped back ahead with three runs in the top of the 4th, before the Tigers answered right away with a pair of runs of their own.
- But Alliance stayed ahead and secured the win with a three-run 7th inning to seal the 10-6 victory.
Up Next: Alliance will be back on Monday for another CACC double header when they take on the Georgian Court University Lions on the road.
