Jersey City, NJ -- The Alliance University women's basketball team was back in action on Saturday night when they hosted the Holy Family University Tigers in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North-South-Division clash. The Tigers used a stellar first half to keep AU at a distance outscoring Alliance 39-14 through the first two quarters. 

Alliance show improved effort in the second period when they beat Holy Family in the third quarter with a score of 20-18 and tied the Tigers at 17 each in the final quarter. Nonetheless the Tigers took the win with a final score of 74-51. Senior Carly Bolivar led AU with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman Ashlyn Mesidor also reached double-digit scoring with 10 points on the day. 

Alliance will be back on Tuesday with a quick non-conference trip to Cheyney University with a tip- off slated for 6:00 pm.
