Jersey City, NJ -- Sophomore Sage Sumpter claimed the top spot in the women's shot put invite at the NYU Division 3 Invitational. The top 10 participating female shot put athletes were all grouped in a separate event. Sumpter finished the day with one meter more than the competition with a distance of 13.58m, which set a new meet record. 

Sumpter is looking to continue to work her way back up to her personal record distance of 14.70m in preparation for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship. 

The next chance for Sumpter to continue her stellar form will be the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on February 10th & 11th, 2023.
