Jersey City, NJ - The Alliance University women's basketball program hosted the Caldwell University Cougars on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.
Both teams battles back and forth in the first quarter and the Cougars kept the upper hand with a 1-point margin at the end of the first 10-minute period with the score 10-11. Alliance started to slowly move away when they outscored the Cougars 18-8 in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead into the half.
With the start of the third quarter Caldwell tried to come back and came as close as three points before AU would build their lead back up to 12 points with 3:02 left in the game. Alliance was able to fend off the Cougars and maintain their nine-point lead at the end of the third quarter. Caldwell came as close as two points in the final period but was never able to tie up the game which eventually finished with a final score of 60-55 for Alliance.

Carly Bolivar led AU with 18 points and seven rebounds. Freshman
Nicole Blanch also recorded double-digits with 15 points shooting 40% from behind the arc.
Alliance will back in action on Wednesday when they take on the Felician University Golden Falcons on the road. AU needs to win its final two conference games and hope that Bloomfield will offer them a lifeline with a win over Caldwell.
