Jersey City, NJ - Sophomore Sage Sumpter continues to be one of the top shot put women's athletes in the NCAA Division II East region. Sumpter finished 9th at the TCNJ Lion Indoor Invitational with a distance of 12.0m, 2.70m short of her season beast of 14.70m which currently ranks 1st in the NCAA Division II East Region. 

A week later Sumpter finished 1st out of 36 athletes at the NYC Gotham Cup with a distance of 12.29m. Sumpter will look to continue to improve her current form to battle with some of the best in the shot put event in the country where she currently ranks 5th.
