Jersey City, NJ - Men's basketball give up a late lead in the second half to lose on a last minute controversial call by the officials. The final score was 75-73, after an official called basket interference by Shir Moraidi (Holon, Israel) for slapping the backboard causing it to vibrate when the ball was within the cylinder on a layup from Bridgeport's Tim Dawson. There were approximately six seconds left in the game, but Alliance was not able to get off a shot when Joel lost the ball on the dribble. This call was spotlighted because of a 17-3 run in 5:23 by the Purple Knights that began with 11:26 left in the second half.

Adrian Amaro (Haverstraw, NY) scored 17 points, which led the team, draining five three pointers for all of his FGs. Joel Bailey (Old Harbour, Jamaica) added 15 points and seven assists. AU will travel to Felician for a 6:30pm start on January 4.
