Bloomfield, NJ -- The Nyack College softball program squared off with the Bloomfield College Bears in the first round of the CACC Softball Playoffs. The Warriors had swept the Bears earlier in the season but came up just short in the post-season matchup which ended with a final score of 3-4. 

Both teams kept each other off the scoreboard during the first two innings. The Warriors finally broke the deadlock in the top of the third when Arielys Rodriguez scored off a Jayna Celano single up the middle. The Bears earned their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fourth scoring a pair of runs after two consecutive wild pitches. 

Nyack on the other hand tied the game on a wild pitch as well in the top of the fifth when Rodriguez scored her second run of the day. Tia Celano would get the Warriors back in front when she scored off an error by the Bears' defense. 

However, Bloomfield answered back right away. A triple in the bottom of the fourth saw the game tied at three before they scored the potential game-winning run for the 3-4 lead. 

Nyack tried to find their way back into the game but was kept at bay by the Bears' pitching staff in a game that finished with a final score of 3-4. 

For the Warriors, the season ended with an overall record of 7-20. Jessa Johnson led the Warriors with a batting average of .367 including three doubles, one triple, and one home run. Janelle Adams and Jayna Celano led Nyack in doubles with six each, while Kaila Quick led the Warriors in home runs with five. Makensie Miller led Nyack for the majority of the game on the mound pitching 114.2 innings which were the most by any pitcher in the CACC.
