Jersey City, NJ -- The Nyack College women's soccer program celebrated its first post-season victory since the Warriors joined the NCAA in 2005. With the win over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins, the Warriors move on to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semifinals where they will square off with the Jefferson University Rams on the road. The game will be played at the Ravenhill Field in Philadephia, PA on Thursday, April 8th. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 pm. 

The Warriors enjoyed a better start into the game, controlling the first 15 minutes of the period, resulting in three shots and five corners. In the 22nd minute, the Warriors finally broke the deadlock when Shanice Rapp played a ball through to Zion Dewerff, who made her way around the goalkeeper to put the ball in the back of the net for the 1-0 Nyack lead. Chestnut Hill started to find their way into the game and created a few chances of their own, with one shot on target, that was saved by Nyack's Michelle Baum in goal. 

In the second half, the Griffins threw more players forward to find the game-tying goal. Nyack withstood the pressure for the majority of the half, but the Griffins remained dangerous on the counter. Both teams were trying to change the momentum in their favor, but neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second 45 minutes, and the game eventually finished with a final score of 1-0, in favor of the Warriors.
