Box Score Jersey City, NJ -- After losing three conference games in a row the Warriors bounced back with a 1-0 win over the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning to improve their record to 5-5 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Both teams created several good opportunities within the first 45 minutes. Nyack's best opportunity came in the 18th minute when Shanice Rapp's free kick was denied by the post. Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half. Both teams recorded nine shots in the first half, with the Warriors putting six of their shots on target.
The second half continued as the first as ended. Both teams remained dangerous and had promising opportunities. In the 80th minute, Nyack finally broke the deadlock. Anna-Lena Gilbert found Shanice Rapp outside the box who fired the ball into the left upper corner for the 1-0 Nyack lead.
The Warriors looked as if they could hold on to their slim lead. But with a minute left the referee pointed to the penalty spot for the Lightning. However, the attempt was fired high over the net and the Warriors secured the 1-0 win.
Nyack will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Connecticut to square off with the Post University Eagles.
