Blauvelt, NY -- The Nyack College women's volleyball team earned its first win of the season with a 3-2 victory (26-24, 25-22, 15-25, 18-25, 15-10). With the win the Warriors improve to 1-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
The Warriors took the first two sets of the contest before dropping the third and the fourth, which forced the game-deciding fifth set. Nyack jumped out to an early lead in the final set and saw themselves either tied or ahead to seal the first victory of the season with a final score of 15-10 in set five.
Jada Hamilton led the Warriors with 11 kills, followed by Ashlyn Couch with 10 kills on the day. Gabrielle Carbonel orchestrated the Nyack offense with 22 assists while Kristen Bernal contribruted 16 assists. British Dawson led the Warriors defensively with a game-high 39 digs.
