Jersey City, NJ -- The Nyack College women's soccer program bounced back after their latest conference road loss to Post University with a 3-2 home victory over the Chestnut Hill College Griffins. 

The Warriors showed a very good first half and were rewarded with two goals in the span of five minutes. Zion Dewerff got on the end of an Anna-Lena Gilbert cross for the 1-0 lead before Dewerff set up teammate Shanice Rapp for the 2-0 lead five minutes later. Nyack outshot the Griffins 12-4 in the first 45 minutes putting 10 of their shots on target forcing 8 saves from the Griffins' goalkeeper. 

Chestnut Hill was determined to find its way back into the game in the second 45 minutes. The Griffins pressed the Warriors higher up the field and created several promising opportunities. In the 63rd minute, the Griffins found the back of the net for the first time only to tie up the game two minutes later. 

Both teams now battled back and forth and it looked as if the game would go into overtime. However, with a minute left Shanice Rapp was brought down inside the 18-yard box. Rapp converted the penalty kick for the 3-2 Nyack win with 1:05 left to play. 

With the win, the Warriors improved to 6-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play. Nyack will be off until Saturday when they host the Holy Family University Tigers.
