The Nyack College lacrosse team traveled to Chestnut Hill
on Wednesday, battling until the end but ultimately losing the game to the Griffins 16-11.
Chestnut Hill opened the game with two quick goals in the 3rd minute.
Tori Silvers scored first for Nyack at
3:05 on a free position shot, but Chestnut Hill went on a scoring run with five more goals in the next ten minutes.
Melissa Clapsaddle snapped the Griffins' streak with an unassisted goal at
13:09, and after a Chestnut Hill goal, Clapsaddle answered with another goal from a free position shot at
17:03. Chestnut Hill gained three more goals, and the Warriors came back with two goals in a row, one from
Tori Silvers on a free position shot at
22:36and one from
Courtney LaTorre at 28:32. The Griffins ended the half with a goal just before the buzzer, and the Warriors went into halftime down 12-5.
At the start of the second half,
Melissa Clapsaddle scored two consecutive goals for Nyack with an unassisted score at 32:19 and again on a free position shot at 37:31. Chestnut Hill made three goals, which Nyack answered with three goals of their own, all unassisted -
Julianna Kranes started Nyack's scoring with a goal at 46:00, followed by
Jocelin Wright's goal at 52:44 and Tori Silver's goal at 54:10. Chestnut Hill scored one more goal, and
Jocelin Wright finished out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 57:08 to close out the game in a 16-11 Nyack loss.
