Women's Soccer Finishes 2018 Season with CACC Quarterfinal Loss

Nyack, NY– The Nyack College women's soccer team finished their 2018 campaign with a 0-4 CACC quarterfinal loss to the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning.

GAME SUMMARY:

  • The Lightning scored a pair of goals in each half
  • Goldey-Beacom opened the scoring early finding the back of the Nyack net in the 4th minute for the first time, before they added another one eight minutes later
  • The Lightning scored two more times in the second half in the 58th and the 75th minute to move on to the CACC seminfinals
  • Nyack was outshot by a margin of 5-23, putting three of their attempts on target

KEY PERFORMERS:
Freshman goalkeeper Nicole Benesch came up with seven saves on the day.  

SEASON RECAP:
Nyack made a return to the CACC playoffs after going 2-16 in the 2017 season. The Warriors finished 7th in the regular season standings with an overall record of 5-10-1 and 5-6-1 in CACC play. Nicole Benesch posted 13 saves twice this season which ranks her second in the Nyack women's soccer record book. Benesch also recorded a total three shutouts. The Warriors were led by junior Camila Parada who scored three goals and added four assists to total 10 points on the season.
