Box Score Nyack, NY - The Nyack College women's lacrosse team lost their home match against the Chestnut Hill College Griffins on Saturday afternoon with 21-9. Before the game, the Warriors thanked their four seniors, Emily Sigmon, Alexandria Bisson, Sarah Scheidt, and Vanessa Sefriou for their hard work and effort that they had poured into the program over their time as members of the team.
Chestnut Hill opened up the scoring six minutes into the game, before Abby Wilmot scored the first Nyack goal of the day to tie the game with 24:03 left in the first period. The Griffins would jump back ahead three minutes later, but Nyack answered with three consecutive goals by Victoria Silvers (2) and Julianna Kranes to pull ahead by two with ten minutes to play in the first half.
However, Chestnut Hill would finish the half with five unanswered point to earn a 7-4 halftime lead.
Th Griffins also opened the scoring in the second half, which was immediatly answered by Abby Wilmot with her second goal of the day. Wilmot and Kranes would score a goal each in the remainder of the contest and Hailey Newell would also add two goals to the Nyack scoresheet. But the Griffins outscored the Warriors in the second half with 14-5 goals and eventually won the game with a final score of 21-9.
Up next: Nyack will be back on Tuesday for their final season game, when they host Queens College in a non-conference match played at Moseley Field. The game will start at 3:30 pm.
