Nyack, NY– The Nyack College volleyball team hosted the University of Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday night. The Owls defeated the Warriors in a 3-0 (20-25, 10-25, 21-25) decision at Bowman Gym.

The first match of the day for the Warriors saw them take an early lead. However, the Owls trailed back to take the first set, 21-25, after hitting .064 during the set with 10 kills.

The Owls would go on to win the second set with a score of 10-25. The third set would also go to the visitors with a final score of 21-25. 

Megan Ma'afala-Maiava led the Warriors with a team high 8 kills, while adding 14 digs. Alexus Winters chipped in 16 digs and Olivia Denny (5) and Kaitlyn Massey (10) helped orchestrate the offense with a combined total of 15 assists.

Nyack hit .026 in the match with 27 kills and 58 digs, while the Owls hit .207 with 36 kills and 54 digs.

The Lady Warriors will travel to Bronxville, NY on Friday to take on the Concordia College Clippers. The game will start at 6:00pm.
