Box Score 2 The Nyack Warriors belted 4 home runs - including a grand slam - to secure a 10-6 win over CACC-foe Bloomfield, on Senior Day.
Senior pitcher Kim Yano secured the win for the Warriors, going the distance. Trailing 3-0, Graduate Student First Baseman/Outfielder Meghan Richards got the Warriors on the board with a solo blast to right center field. The Warriors tied the score 3-3 before a Bloomfield 2-run homer put the Bears up 5-3. Sophomore second baseman Victoria Triozzi then blasted a grand slam homer to give the Warriors the lead for good at 7-5. Yano battled to the finish for the win. The Warriors got insurance runs on a solo homer by Kylie Brase and a 2-run homer from Morgan Hans, for the exciting Senior Day celebration. Joining Richards and Yano, center fielder Elyanna Rivas was also honored.
The Warriors are back in action Thursday, April 21 traveling to NYIT. After wrapping up CACC play at Chestnut Hill on Saturday, the Warriors will finish with a make-up doubleheader at home vs. Mercy, on Tuesday April 26, beginning at 2 p.m.
