The Warriors and the Golden Falcons took to the field twice today in 2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches at 3:30pm and 5:30pm.  Each team was awarded a loss and a victory at the double headers conclusion.

Game 1 saw a struggling Warrior offense force itself to rectification in 7 short innings for game 2.  Nyack sported 1 hit and 4 RBI's through the first match, which was not enough to match the 9 runs of the Golden Falcons.  Freshman Kylie Brase (San Diego, CA) garnered the solo hit for game 1, also earning 1 RBI.  Graduate Student Meghan Richards (Nanuet, NY)  also contributed an RBI, as did freshman Kaitie Lupinacci (Bordentown, NJ).  Just shy of earning a hit were Kim Yano (Blauvelt, NY) and sophomore Victoria Triozzi (Branchburg, NJ), who sacrificed at the plate to move their teammates into scoring position.

After earning 1 hit against Felician and losing by 5 runs, Nyack's offense came alive bringing their bats, quick thinking, and aggressive running to the dirt to win the ball game.  The Warriors earned 10 hits and 6 runs out of 27 at bats.  After a first inning homerun by the Falcons, the Warriors refused to be dismayed.  Richards combatted the homerun by stopping in the base path after grounding to first with a runner on third.  Her stall forced an error in the field earning herself an RBI and an extra base.  Freshman Alissa Brugnoli (Hamilton, NJ) followed in Richards footsteps stealing 2nd as a distraction for senior Elyanna Rivas (Los Angeles, CA) on third, who was able to score, and later took advantage of a neglectful infield and delay stole third base.  The offensive aggression partnered with tactful defense, which featured a double play, resulting in a 6-2 victory for Nyack.

Up Next:

Nyack will travel on Thursday, March 17th, to play Bloomsburg in a non-conference double header match at 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM.  Live Stats will be available; tune in to support your Warriors!
