Lady Warriors upended by Wilmington in final conference game, 1-5

Wilmington, DE - Nyack returned to the field this Saturday for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against the Wilmington University Wildcats. The Warriors dropped the road game to the Wildcats 1-5, and are now 6-6 in conference play.

Wilmington scored first in the 4th minute, when the wind carried a cross into the Warrior goal. The Wildcats would add another one with 7 minutes left in the first half to gain a 2-0 lead. Wilmington outshot the Warriors 4-3 in the first 45 minutes and sophomore goalkeeper Julianna Kranes recorded one save.

The momentum shifted in the second half and Nyack took more control of the game, creating some promising opportunities for itself. In the 58th minute, freshman Tauntyonah Marie-Guinter would score of a short corner by Zoe Mould to cut the lead to one. The Warriors kept pressing forward and enjoyed the majority of possession in the second half. However, the Warriors were unable to find the back of the net. Instead, the Wildcats would score three times in the 65th, 66th, and 83rd minute to seal the 5-1 victory. The Warriors were outshot by the Cougars with a margin of 8-11 and Kranes finished the day with 1 save.

The Women's Soccer team will be back on to the road this Wednesday for their final regular season game, when they travel to Rochester, NY to face Roberts Wesleyan in a non-conference match at 5:00pm.
