The Basics
Score: Nyack 6, DC 5
Nyack Record: 12-29, 8-13 CACC
Domonican Record: 20-23, 12-9 CACC
Location: Pomona, NY | Provident Bank Park

POMONA, NY - The men's baseball team completed their 2015 in walk-off fashion with a 6-5 non-conference win over Dominican College this evening at Provident Bank Park.

How It Happened:
Nyack would get their first run of the contest in the bottom of the 1st, knotting the score at 1-1 when Tino Pardo, who singled and stole second, would be scored on a throwing error off a Mike Langston sac bunt.

Dominican would add two runs in the top of the third to take a 3-run lead, but Nyack would answer in the bottom of the inning when Jack Hudak sent his first collegiate homer over the left field wall to make the score 3-2 (see Hudak home run here).  Dominican would extend their lead to 4-2 with an unearned run in the 5th and Dominican would hold that lead until the bottom of the 7th inning.

Cole Tobin would begin the Warrior rally with a 405 foot double to dead center field off the Rockland monster (see Tobin here). Brent James would follow with a monster shot of his own, driving his first homer of the season well beyond the right center fence and knotting the score at 4-4 (see James home run here). A Dominican throwing error later in the inning on a Dylan Schantz stolen base would score Nick McConnell from third and take a 5-4 lead.

Dominican would tie and threaten to take the lead in the top of the 8th, but Tony Campbell would extinguish the Dominican threat by striking out the only batter he faced for the third out of the inning.  The score would remain 5-5 until the bottom of the ninth when Dylan Schantz led off the inning with a bunt base hit and would be moved to 2nd base on a sac bunt from Hudak. Yoni Rodriguez would deliver his first hit of the contest, a bouncing chopper over the third baseman's head and scoring Schantz from 2nd giving Nyack the walk-off win.

Erik Bussey picks up the win in relief, retiring all 3 batters he faced in the top of the 9th. Jose Corrales would deliver a strong outting in relief, throwing 4 2/3 innings, striking out 6 and allowing 1 earned run. Warrior Pardo would register a multi-hit, multi stolen base performance, giving him a team high 20 stolen bases on the season.

Up Next:
With the win, Nyack finishes the 2015 campaign with an overall record of 12-29, 7-13 in CACC play which did not qualify them for the league Championship Tournament. Be sure to check back for postseason awards and a season wrap up in the upcoming future on athletics.nyack.edu
