Nyack Record: 1-13
Felician College Record: 4-14
Location: Bowman Gymnasium

NYACK, NY

In an intense three sets filled with multiple rallies extending beyond four opportunities to score, the Warriors volleyball team fell to the Golden Falcons of Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.  Nyack featured incredible resilience and remarkable defense against the Falcons, but was unable to secure a set for the night.

How It Happened:
Senior Annah Aguilar (New Bloomfield, PA) stepped to the service line with confidence leading the Warriors to a 5 point lead to start the match, earning 2 aces throughout the match.  Aguilar also joined four of her teammates with double digit digs earning 10 against Felician's offense.  Freshman Natalie Anderson (Tualatin, OR) and sophomore Jillian Smith (Oceanside, CA) each also recorded 10 digs for the Warriors, many of which were successive within the same rally.  Sophomore setter Olivia Denny (Las Vegas, NV) led the Warriors defense with 16 digs for the night.  Sophomore Lindsay Miller (Chandler, AZ) did her part on defense by restricting the Falcons at the net earning the Warriors only 2 blocks for the match.

The Warriors offense was led by sophomores Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, CA), Miller and Smith who notched 8, 6, and 6, kills respectively.  Each Warrior saw high levels of attempts, recording 120 attempts as a team in 3 sets, due to the extensive rallies and scrappy defense on both sides of the net.  Every kill was fought for, earned, and deserved as there was hardly a ball that did not receive a second touch.  The same fighting spirit was seen at the service line from Winters as she placed back to back aces in the 2nd set breaking the score battle at 19-19 between the Falcons and the Warriors leading to the eventual overtime loss.

The Golden Falcons walked away with a 3 set victory after an hour and twenty minutes of vigorous play.  The final scores would remain 25-16,-26-24, and-25-15.  With this victory Felician progresses to 4-14 for the 2015 campaign.
