The Women's Soccer team garnered their 2nd win of the 2015 campaign against the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference competition.

How It Happened:
Earning her second shutout of the season, sophomore Jordan Jansen (Lafayette, NJ) recorded 6 saves for the Warriors defense, preventing the Griffins from earning a position on the scoreboard.  Her efforts were matched by the Warriors offense putting up 13 shots with 6 shots on goal before notching the first and only goal of the match in the final 5 minutes of play.  Sophomore Rebekah Lawler (Lacey, NJ) led the Warriors offense with an aggressive 4 shots with 2 shots on goal.  Senior Krystal Vega (Anaheim, CA) tagged the only goal for the game with 2 shots and 1 on goal.  Junior Katherine Oldfield (Bolton, England) added 2 shots for the Warriors offense and was joined by freshmen Julianna Kranes (Montgomery, NY), Vanessa Séfriou (Québec, Canada), junior Melanie Garcia (Queens, NY), senior Brittany Cruz (Suffren, NY), and sophomore Clara Vierstra (Concord, MA) who all place 1 shot with all except 1 falling on target.

The first period saw even play from both ends of the field as the Warriors placed 7 shots and the Griffins took 6.  The Warriors came out with a strong impression, pinning 5 shots in the first 15 minutes of play, only allowing the Griffins to take 3 shots in 25 minutes.  Past the 25 minute mark the play evened out and control of the ball was split between the two teams.  The Warriors defensive line earned a save in the 32nd minute prohibiting from the Griffins from scoring.  The half would end without any points on the scoreboard.

The game would remain scoreless throughout a majority of the second half, despite increased pressure from the Griffins.  Jansen recorded 6 saves in the second half alone out of 11 shots made, keeping the Griffins from taking the lead of the game.  Lawler came into the 2nd half determined to put the Warriors on the scoreboard, placing a shot on goal 35 seconds into play, and again 2 minutes later.  Shots were traded back and forth and saves were earned in each net as the game remained scoreless as the clock ticked towards conclusion.  In the 85th minute Vega emerged on the offense taking a wide open shot from the top of the box, off of a deflection, scoring the first goal of the match.  The Griffins were unable to answer with a shot from the remaining 4 and a half minutes of play and the clock would expire with a final score of 1-0, in favor of the Warriors.
