NYACK, NY - Nyack College played the University of Bridgeport at home this afternoon. The seniors were honored for their hard work and dedication to the team before the start of the game. Players Allyson Rola, Amanda Carter, Stacey Cervantes, and Sydney McIntosh, as well as Student Assistant Gabrielle Do received accolades before game play.

Inside The Game:
The first period of the game started with a free position goal by the Purple Knights, followed by a free position goal by Lauren Lebo of the Nyack Warriors (1-1). Bridgeport answered back with eight consecutive goals in a row (9-1). With less than eight minutes left in the first half, the Warriors rallied together to score two more points; one a piece by Lebo and Victoria Lopez-Nash (9-3). A minute later, Bridgeport scored once again (10-3). The Lady Warriors followed with another goal by Nash assisted by Lebo (10-4). At 3:30, the Purple Knights secured their lead by scoring three more times leaving the score 13-4 at the end of the half.

The second half highlighted a more aggressive Nyack team, but Bridgeport managed to maintain their lead. The Knights opened the half with another goal (14-4). Nyack followed with another goal by Lebo, and a successful free position shot by Hee Jae Ko (14-6). Ten minutes into the game, Bridgeport scored once again trailed by another goal by Lebo (15-7).  At the mid mark of the half up until the last five minutes of the game, the Knights managed to maintain possession and score five more points (20-7). With a minute left on the clock, Lebo scored one more time for the Lady Warriors leaving the final score 20-8.

Overall the Lady Warriors managed to get more ground balls, while Bridgeport held the game on draw controls and shots. Gabrielle Valela of the Purple Knights made the most goals of the game at 7, while Lauren Lebo came in second with 5.
