Box Score NEW HAVEN, CT - For the first time this season Warrior pitcher Cole Tobin (Dover, NH), has been voted as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Week.
The announcement was made by the league office on Monday for the reporting period ending Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Tobin, a 2x CACC Honorable Mention this season, was selected amongst other players from the 11 colleges/universities that make up the CACC conference who took part in games this past week.
The Warriors went 2-1 where Tobin would pitch his third complete game shutout of the season wrapping up with Saturday's 3-0 win over No. 20 in the nation, Wilmington University. In nine innings he surrendered five hits and two walks while striking out seven Wildcats. The team also defeated Baptist Bible 6-0.
As a junior, Tobin is currently ranked No. 2 in the conference among the Top-10 individual leaders in categories for his Earned Run Average (1.5), Strikeouts (31), and Wins (4). Tobin was also recognized this week along with teammate Ryan Kahl who was named Rookie of the Week, having Nyack represented for two major honors in one weekly report.
After yesterday's 3-2 victory over Dominican College, Nyack Baseball (10-9, 3-1) returns to action later today when they take on Queens College in a non-conference bout at Provident Bank Park. First pitch is slated for 3:00PM eastern time.
