Box Score WATERBURY, CT - April 9, 2013
It was a beautiful day for the game against Post. The girls were excited for the rematch but unfortunately could not come up with the win, as the final score would show 2-20.
Post came out strong and Nyack was so eager to answer that they threw away some key shots.
In the midfield Nyack worked hard for the double and to slow down the fast break but it was the ground balls that won the game. Post was first to the ball and Nyack was stuck defending too often.
The Lady Warriors played much better in the second half. They were able to put higher pressure on the ball when playing defense and anticipate the next move.
The two Warrior goals scored this period would come from Lauren Lebo (West Simsbury, CT) and Amanda Farrell (Fort Myers, FL).
During Nyack's second half attacks, there were several good possessions that unfortunately did not end in a goal. On the bright side by the last 15 minutes of the game the ball was moving quicker and the girls were in the right places.
Even with these corrections Post was able to capitalize on Nyack's mistakes too often and come up with the ball.
Coach's Dietrich-Reis stated after the game, "the team hustled hard the whole game and is still learning. It is tough that the score does not accurately reflect their dramatic improvement of the team."
The Lady Warriors will be back in action Thurdsay, April 11th for a home contest against Georgian Court Universityat 3:30pm on Mosely Field.
