Box Score Houghton, NY- The Warriors traveled to Houghton, New York this afternoon to play against # 2 ranked Roberts Wesleyan in what would be Nyack's first NCCAA Regional Tournament game of the season. The Warriors ranked 3rd in the tournament would notch the victory as they beat Roberts Wesleyan in a shootout. The final score would be 1-1, but Nyack took the shootout 5-4 to advance to the NCCAA East Region Championship.
Nyack would be first on the board when freshman Cyan Jean-Baptiste scored in the 13th minute of play. Robert Wesleyan would counteract scoring 10 minutes later in the 23rd minute of the first half.
Despite outshooting their opponent 12-8 and 7-0 in corner kicks, the score would remain 1-1 after the second overtime. Nyack would then seal the win defeating Robert Wesleyan in the shootout by a score of 5-4.
Madeline Barbarino would register 3 saves in the win.
The Warrior's will continue in the NCCAA Regional Tournament tomorrow as they play Houghton College at 4pm for the championship game. A win would send Coach Oduro's squad to the NCCAA National Championship in Florida next week.
