WILMINGTON, Del. – Led by a "double double" from senior outside hitter Moana Masaniai (Kamehameha Schools/Waipahu, Hawaii), Nyack College (7-6, 4-2) posted its second win in the last three matches with a four-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-10, 0-6) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors, who were playing their second match in less than 24 hours, earned the victory over Goldey-Beacom by scores of 26-24, 22-25, 25-13 and 25-19.
Masaniai, who entered the match ranked second in the CACC in kills per set, tallied her second "double double" of the season with a match-high 18 kills while hitting .412. She also tallied 12 digs in the victory.
Meanwhile, junior outside hitter Debbie Schendel (Great Falls, Mont.) added 12 kills and nearly recorded a "double double" with nine digs. Junior setter Brianna Kane (Westwoods Christian H.S./Bethany, Conn.) added 39 assists and 11 digs while junior defensive specialist Michelle Makela (Cocoa H.S./Cocoa, Fla.) had 14 digs.
Volleyball returns to action Wednesday when they take on Concordia College in Bowman Gymnasium at 7 PM.
