Box Score Wilmington, DE- The Warrior's would tie first place Wilmington University yesterday afternoon in a conference match up by a score of 2-2. The ties keeps Nyack in fifth place in the CACC standings while the Wildcats fall to second place behind Philadelphia University.
Wilmington would score twice early in the first half. Their first goal came in the 15th minute and second in the 22nd minute when the Wildcats finished what would develop into a breakaway opportunity. Nyack wouldn't be fazed as Senior Sabrina Caires would net her first goal of the season coming from a 20 yard blast in the upper right corner of the goal in the 37th minute.
Despite a scoreless next 50 minutes, Nyack would then notch their second goal of the game in the 87th minute. With a pass from Julia Losert, Senior Stacey Cervantes would deliver the game tying goal off a header that found the back of the net. It was Cervantes 4th goal of the season putting her point total to 11 which ranks in the top 10 in the CACC.
Although the Warriors would outshoot Wilmington in total shots in the 2 Overtime periods, they weren't able to convert the deciding goal.
Nyack will look to bring the same intensity that was needed to tie the top ranked Wildcats into another conference matchup this Wednesday when they travel to Concordia College for a 3PM start .
