Ron played basketball and soccer at Nyack College from 1960-1963. He transferred to Nyack from Orlando Community College in Orlando Florida. He became a starter in both soccer and basketball as a junior. In soccer he played as a defensive back and in basketball he was a 6’1” forward. As a junior he scored 228 points and grabbed 228 rebounds for an average of 12 points and 12 rebounds per game. As a senior he scored 255 points and grabbed 238 rebounds for an average of 13.4 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. During his senior year he was named to the NACC first team in both basketball and soccer.
After graduating from Nyack, Ron served on the board of trustees from 1988-2000. He was a part of the board when the school decided to make the jump from NAIA division II up to NCAA Division II. He has been a friend of Nyack athletics for many years often opening his home to coaches, players, and teams as they traveled through the Orlando area.
